Questions

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real

media products?

Our media product will try and challenge the conventions of real media products by using different methods of filming the opening scene to an espionage. It will use the ideas of a spy and a terrorist usually being the main character within the film. It will develop the fact that espionage films are not made too often and a new era of espionage could be around in the near future.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our product may contain an Asian person as a terrorist and this could represent the stereotype that asains or Muslims are represented in the media as terrorists. We would also have a white English person as the spy which represents the stereotype of English people as being the hero.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

EON is a possible institute that would distribute our media product because they are known for creating spy films and various crime films across the board.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

our target audience would probably be for the age group 12+ as they would be able to understand the full extent of what is happening and would still be interested at the same time.

How did you attract/address your audience?

We would attract our audience with saying that it would be an action packed thrill ride with actual meaning behind the story and this would be shown within the opening 2 minutes that we would produce.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Our group is already pretty well informed about the technology used to create the product such as the editing programs like Photoshop and premier pro. We also have a good understanding of how to use a dslr camera through experience before hand.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from
it to the full product?

So far I have learnt that it is very important to have research that backs up the planning for the task ahead to hopefully succeed in making a successful product by the end.
